For the past twenty years, Sandra Pell has been helping students from John Jay, Fox Lane, Horace Greeley, Byram Hills, Somers, Yorktown, Briarcliff, Scarsdale, Croton, Hackley, Harvey and Greenwich Academy achieve their full potential in math. She has also worked with adults studying for the GED, National Teachers Exam, and LSAT.
Sandra was a child with mathematical tendencies from her very earliest years, and her love of all things mathematical has never wavered. She attended Cornell University where she earned a BA in Mathematics. She went on to get a Master’s in Math Education from Columbia University.
After her first child was born, Sandra left her job as a math teacher at an independent school in Manhattan, and she and her husband moved to Westchester. She began tutoring and soon built up a client base of high school students from all over Westchester, Putnam, and Fairfield Counties. She has found great fulfillment in working with students individually and addressing the specific needs of each one.
As a mother of three very different individuals, all of whom are now college graduates, Sandra has a great deal of firsthand experience navigating the college admissions process. When she is not tutoring, you may see her out jogging, volunteering in the ESL program at the Community Center of Northern Westchester, or studying Spanish.
